In several years, I simply could not find a new IP to throne. It happens. Sequels rule the world, as we know.<\/p>\n

It’s worth noting that 2010’s Red Dead Redemption<\/b> was a toss-up with Super Mario Galaxy 2<\/b>. Both are pretty much perfect 10s in my book. Four MGS<\/b> games? Three Uncharted<\/b> and RE<\/b> games topping this list! And Borderlands<\/b> is on there twice too. Pretty cool!<\/p>\n

Update – February 2018<\/b>
\nI picked up Bloodborne<\/b> this winter and while it hasn’t dethroned MGSV<\/b>, it has usurped Rocket League<\/b> as the best new IP of 2015. <\/p>\n

Update – January 2021<\/b>
\nSince getting a PSVR, my New-IP entry for 2018 has shifted from Dead Cells<\/b> to Astro Bot: Rescue Mission<\/b>. This game is so good that it may even rival the mighty God Of War<\/b> as the best of the year. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
