With just four months left this year, I’ll admit it’s been just a so-so year for metal releases. Several have come out which have left me unimpressed (Lamb of God<\/b>) and only a few have really surprised me and have colored me enthusiastic about listening again (Borknagar<\/b>). However, with a few more months left, there should be plenty of time for bands to woo me. Here’s the list of my ‘waiting for’ albums. I don’t see any of them really blowing me away!<\/p>\n

\nAugust<\/b>
\nKatatonia: Dead End Kings (zero expectations)<\/p>\n

September<\/b>
\nDown: Down IV (Part I)
\nAnthrax: The ’70s EP
\nEnslaved: RIITIIR\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I wasn’t too thrilled with Down III<\/b>, so I can’t say I’m really excited about another. Anthrax<\/b>? Ah, ’70s covers could be fun, but I don’t expect regular spins. Enslaved<\/b>? I never know with them. I look forward to it!!!<\/p>\n

\nOctober<\/b>
\nMy Dying Bride: A Map Of All Our Failures
\nNeurosis: Honor Found In Decay
\nCradle Of Filth: The Manticore And Other Horrors\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now This<\/b> is what I was looking for. Another MDB<\/b>!? I tend to like every other release. The Dreadful Hours<\/b> and A Line Of Deathless Kings<\/b> = awesome! Songs of Darkness, Words of Light<\/b> and For Lies I Sire<\/b> = less so…now, I loved The Barghest O’Whitby<\/b> so I have high expectations for this one. Neurosis<\/b>…been waiting a long time for a new one. COF<\/b>? More of the same, I expect. <\/p>\n

When?<\/b><\/p>\n

\nSoilwork: The Living Infinite<\/b>
If they can keep up the quality after the last album, I’ll be thrilled. <\/p>\n

October Tide<\/b>
Oh I can’t wait…Doubtful for this year.<\/p>\n

Skyfire<\/b>
Oh I can’t wait…wait…did I say that already?<\/p>\n

Summoning<\/b>
I love this band. As usual, just wait and one day it’ll pop up.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, there you have it. If none of these come out\/destroy, it’ll probably be Borknagar<\/b> or Alcest<\/b> for AotY<\/i>. While I just got into Alcest<\/b>, their newest isn’t nearly as good as their last. Borknagar<\/b> is the best of the year? Hmmm…<\/p>\n

Oh, and I’ll have to get around to mentioning\/reviewing Vintersorg<\/b>, Tenacious D<\/b> and Citizen Cope<\/b>. I really want to like the new Vintersorg<\/b>…it’s good…but I’m not completely sold on it yet. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
