SMJ Demo (Spring 2005)

SMJ was a jam band and we had a lot of fun with it. Mat played bass, Doug played drums and I was on guitar. I sang, Mat sang, we jammed. It was the best outlet ever. After several years of playing we decided to record a pair of songs at Sapone's in the spring of '05. While we had several originals we chose these two. Chunky Soup was this super heavy song that evolved from Chunk Tuna. It's groovy, heavy, chunky and then goes into porn wah jam middle. I'm hapy with my solos but they were impossible to reproduce in the studio. Took many takes. Then we have De Los Craneos. This is also an instrumental, though I sang throughout live. It's an upbeat classic metal tune with some great guitarwork (bass and drums too, of course!) The middle bit was taken from Slatesong and it sounds awesome. Enjoy these tracks. SMJ is dead, long live SMJ!
