Two songs in two nights! \m/ This is most certainly better than last night’s travesty. Fun metal. That’s all.

I lost everything I was working on and to be honest, I just wanted an excuse to record something. I really don’t like the intro but the rest of this song is decent enough. It’s chuggy and it’s metal and I can live with that. Here’s your song, titled Disaster Song because I’m not overly fond of it.

I solved this guy once upon getting it and then got stuck on the last layer the second time. (I think I got really lucky the first time!) It sat on the shelf, in a mostly-solved state since and it mocked me. It embarrassed me. I can’t be defeated by a mere 3×3 shape mod!!! Alas, I recall why I didn’t solve it again. The tutorials did not help me in any meaningful way. Today’s savior? My favorite cubing channel, TheMaoiSha! It’s entirely in Spanish, and I’ve loved his videos as of late. Could a Spanish tutorial help where the English-language ones failed me? ¡Sí! Let’s link it up, toss some Algs and call it a night!

With Erin gone (3 months down – 1 to go), I figured I should finally watch this show I’ve been meaning to. That was about 10 days ago. Now, two seasons are done and I’m itching to start season #3. As a fan of Nordic mythology and as a descendent of a Viking myself (not proven, just know it in my heart, ha!) I’ve gobbled up 19 episodes of Ragnar Lodbrook and his entourage (with especial consideration given to Lagertha – OMG). Two Blue Moons down and I think season three must be at least tasted! I don’t care if this is a historically-accurate depiction of the Viking lifestyle, although I know Ragnar was a real man. I’m just entrenched in this show and digging every minute of it. Moar please!
I’m going to keep this relatively brief.
Uncharted 4 / Zelda / Street Fighter V – All 2016.
Like music in 2015, I’m left a bit underwhelmed and so the true 2015 games are simply:
MGS V / No Man’s Sky / Just Cause 3
And…let’s face it. NMS is just a shot in the dark. The other two…who knows. More of the same? THPS5? Please. I don’t know. This year is not a great one and so I’ll just hope for something to surprise me.

I wanted to see this. The reviews raved. I finally saw it. I shat my pants.
The action is so over-the-top, so stylized, so outrageous, I couldn’t envision what would come next. That’s about the best review I could give a movie at a time when I feel as if I can predict almost everything, even twists. While you can guess the ending, my meaning is that the action choices blended with a NEW post-apocalyptic world left me surprised and smiling at every turn. See this movie on the big screen. It’s utterly spectacular.
Should go to bed…maybe a groovy riff? Some layered guitars? Bass is a must! No live drums, I suck. Trusty Alesis SR-16! Mixdown! For what it is, I like it. Enjoy!

This one has been brewing but with manic stresses in life right now, there it sat. Dormant. Whatever. It’s heavy, drop-d tuning. Live, electronic drums again reveal fundamental flaws but I’m happy with the whole lot of it. It gets a bit loud at the end. Hard to contain such excitement! Five tracks before the end of March…this year has been a good one so far!!!

So, you ‘reboot’ your franchise by making a side-story of sorts which takes place on a ship, but this reboot is just for the Nintendo 3DS, a rather limited market. You test the waters (pun!) to excellent reviews and then, as is Capcom’s wont, you port it over to a bunch of other platforms. It seems reasonable. I never jumped at RE: Revelations and even after getting it on sale on the PSN, I didn’t play too much. However, as the REmake was just out and with Revelations 2 coming, I played a bit over the last month. It’s actually quite good! Most reviews critiqued the graphics but I swear, we all forget how good games don’t have to rely on visuals. Now, the story is ludicrous (as is Jessica’s outfit) but I don’t play RE for practicality. For what it is, it is entertaining. It’s more RE which I love and that’s enough for me.
I have yet to finish that game’s campaign but it’s OK. Resident Evil’s mythos isn’t really shattered now that I’m already halfway through RE:R2, one of the weirder acronyms. This one is entirely coop, though you can’t play online that way. I’m disgusted at how games have really put online coop on the backburner as it’s one of my favorite genres and this game would be perfect for it. Anyhow, this new title is awesome. I’ve read reviews slagging the first episode and others slagging the second (all while praising the opposite, it’s strange) but whatever. It’s fun. Claire’s campaign is more action-oriented while Barry’s is more survival horror. It’s relatively cheap AND Raid Mode is spectacular! I just leveled Hunk up to level 50 and as the next two weeks roll out, more will be added. And while the weekly installment thing irked me at first, I’ve now embraced it as I can’t wait for Tuesday to come to play the next episode! It’s all brilliant and has me salivating for more.
After beating the REmake a handful of times, including a 2:30 speedrun this past month, I’m sold on the RE franchise again. I’m not the die-hardest of fans…but at 39 years old, nobody cares anyway. My history is scattered but damn, I’m enjoying it now. Skipping some titles, here’s my experience…
RE (PS1 – played, never beat)
RE2 (PS1 – beat)
RE3 (never played)
Code Veronica (DC – touched a few times)
REmake (GC – played, never beat)
RE0 (GC – played, never beat)
RE: Outbreak (PS2 – played, beat?)
RE: Outbreak 2 (PS2 – played, never beat)
RE4 (GC/PS2/Wii/PS3 – beat numerous times, not on PS3 though!)
RE: Umbrella Chronicles (Wii/PS3 – beat on Wii, not on PS3)
RE5 (PS3/Xbox360 – Platinumed, beat everything PS3, beat on 360)
RE: Darkside Chronicles (Wii/PS3 – played, never beat either)
RE: Revelations (PS3 – will beat by next week)
RE6 (PS3 – beat, never finished Ada’s campaign – not my fave RE)
RE:R2 (Halfway done – digging it!)
I haven’t beaten half the RE games I started…I guess that’s pathetic. :) Whatever. Having fun now!
